There was supposed to be a family meeting with a lot of the doctors and our family.
Tandy was able to fly in last night and Angie is also still with mom.
However, sad to say that one of the main Dr.'s, the neurologist, Dr. Cilo had a heart attack last night and passed away. To say the least this has been a big shock, not only for our family, but his, and the medical community. We are saddened by this because we were told by many what a wonderful and intelligent Dr. he was when he was working with Dad. We ask that you would add his family and friends to the list of people we are praying for.
Dad continues to have a fever on and off. Mom is learning how to do more physical therapy and it will be easier when his leg and arm have healed. They take great care of Dad at Kindred and we are blessed with the wonderful staff.
I am not sure when Tandy is leaving, I am guessing Sunday, and Angie will be leaving about the 13th of August (unless she goes earlier). I won't be able to go to Denver until after the 17th of August so mom will be alone for about 4 days. Plus I will only be able to stay for a couple weeks--I am sure it will be good to have alone time, but we also know how much talking to people about positive things and blessings help her. Just keep in mind that she may be needed a little more TLC for those few days and then after I leave.
Also--down the hall mom has befriended a women and her husband has started eating solids, ice chips and applesauce--little celebrations happen everywhere!
We are keeping the faith and know that faith proceeds the miracle--Just think Moses had to wait about 40 years before he got to his promised land-And think of how long people were waiting for the Savior to be born-Thousands of years-I KNOW we won't have to wait near that long. :) Keep those prayers of thanksgiving going!
This was the Chaplin that met mom when she first came in at Littleton.
I took this about June 20th? She was a great strength to mom during her first hard hours and other times as well!
Thank you!
