Baby steps of good news

This morning dad got a tracheotomy and a G-tube, which is a tube that goes directly into his stomach so he can start getting better calories--instead of the 500 calorie TPI (?) that they have been giving him.

The reason they did a trech even after breathing on his own was to prevent problems if the heavier stuff they will be feeding him trys to get into his lungs, they can clean it up faster and prevent damage to his throat from having a tube in there for so long.

So they did those this morning with great success and was able to remove all the tubes...so we wanted to see what teeth (if any) he had left--Good news! All of his teeth are still there. We thought he had lost most of the top teeth so we were very happy!

We also heard that he is going to be moved in about 3-4 days to a long term facility. If he wakes up things will be different, but at this time we are planning for this. It will be kind of like a nursing home, for people who are in coma's or have critial problems that will be there for a long time--the offical term is something like... Long Term Acute Care Center.

Thanks again for all your prayers

PS: Anyone interested in buying tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir tickets to Red Rocks on Monday the 29th? They are $ 85.00 each, and the seats are the Main, Lower section row 8, seat 68--or best offer. Leave a comment to this blog post if you are interested.

...Sigh... Hang in there, everybody! Prayers, hope, love, Father's love and time will work. I'm coming into Denver this coming Saturday and Sunday. Want to spend time with Doran and Joye and see the location of the accident. Love you all~!
