The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Amazing New Universal Theme LandThere has been speculation for many months about a deal involving J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series of books and movies. At first Disney seemed to be a front runner for the deal, but the deal has passed to Universal.
It was announced on June 1st that Universal is to open The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in late 2009. It will be part of Universal Islands of Adventure and will be included in the general admission for that park. Universal hasn't yet released many details, but it is clear that there will be multiple rides, attractions, shops and restaurants in the new land which will cover 20 acres. Guests will be able to go inside Hogwarts, and wander through Hogsmeade Village and The Forbidden Forest. A 'state of the art ride' is promised, which industry rumors suggest will use robotic arm technology to take passengers on a flying car ride.
