another update....

Hi, everyone-- I talked to my mom yesterday and She gave me some things to blog about.
I told her how we, in cyberworld, that can't be in Denver, love ANY and ALL information we can get, but she is still on such information overload all the time it is hard for her to really express what is going on and things change so quickly, for example dad's blood pressure was so good they took him off the blood pressure medicine, but within 12-20 hours he needed to be placed back on it, so it is hard to blog every little thing like that--that happens. Plus at this time there is no big improvements, little things, like his skin color still looks good and Mom said that there have been positive signs of dad following very simple commands and that both the nurse and at one point the neurologist saw him do it.

The external fixature on his leg will remain in place for 2-6 months and he has had it on now for 1 month--we are excited to see the progress it has made next month--we assume they will take another x-ray at that time to see if they need to tweek it or change it in order for the bones to set correctly.

The guy that looks at trechs came in and said dad is doing fine, He said that he is the least of his concerns at Kindred, and they will look into getting a smaller trech for him if possible soon.

Also, the single ward that Jon went to while he was here came and sang hymns for dad the other night. I am sure he enjoyed that. What a great thing for them to do--thank you!

That is all the information we have to update right now. Steffani (Tandy's wife) and her kids are with mom for a while and then I will head back up to Denver/Littleton/Centennial (I use all these terms interchangeably) for a few weeks.

Also Rhonda is back-- so the carepages might be updated more often now.
